Another successful season in the Perth Football League’s Life Without Barriers Integrated Competition will culminate with the A and B Division Grand Finals at Kingsway Reserve on Saturday afternoon.
The competition’s best players will be on display when reigning premiers Willetton Blues meet High Wycombe Bulldogs in the Division A decider.
In the curtain raiser, Fremantle CBC Old Boys face the Kelmscott Bulldogs in the second ever Division B Grand Final.
The Perth Football League Integrated Competition continued to focus on participation, inclusion, and growth during 2022, with two new teams welcomed into the fold.
WAAAFA Executive Officer Hayden Marchetto declared there’s great excitement surrounding this year’s Grand Final day.
“The Integrated Football League has grown significantly since its origins in 2008/09, and it’s wonderful to see such a high level of competition in our second Grand Final round with two divisions.
The league provides a valuable opportunity among and between individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families, and the surrounding community, and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow in future seasons.
“The integrated players at all levels have had a fantastic season, and we’re hoping to close it out with two close Grand Finals,” Marchetto said.
WA’s Integrated Competition was formed after several Perth Football League clubs identified a need to cater for players with an intellectual disability who love the game to be able to participate.
After what started as Come N Try days, the competition has grown year by year, providing a critical outlet for players and their families in the WA community.
