THE last spot in the 2022 WAFLW Grand Final will be determined when Claremont and Swan Districts battle it out in Sunday's preliminary final with a match up against East Fremantle in the decider the reward.

East Fremantle has already qualified for the 2022 WAFLW Grand Final which will be held next Sunday at Revo Fitness Stadium on the back of an undefeated season so far winning all 14 matches of the home and away campaign, and then last Sunday's second semi-final against Claremont.

That means that the Sharks have the chance to sit back and wait to find out who they will be facing when Claremont hosts Swan Districts in this Sunday's preliminary final which will bounce down at 2pm at Revo Fitness Stadium.

The equation is simple, the winner will advance to the Grand Final to play East Fremantle and the season is over for the season. The Tigers are attempting to reach their first WAFLW Grand Final as well and the Swans a third as they chase that elusive first premiership.

SEMI FINALS WAFLW WRAP

It's not just the East Fremantle WAFLW League team that's already through to the Grand Final either, both their Reserves and Youth Girls teams went straight into their respective deciders with second semi-final wins last Sunday.

The Rogers Cup preliminary final opens proceedings on Sunday at Revo Fitness Stadium at 10am with Peel Thunder playing South Fremantle.

The Reserves preliminary final will then begin at 12pm with Claremont on home turf to take on Swan Districts.

The winners of all three preliminary finals throughout the day on Sunday will move on to play East Fremantle in the Grand Finals at Revo Fitness Stadium next Saturday.

CLAREMONT v SWAN DISTRICTS

Sunday's preliminary final at Revo Fitness Stadium sees Claremont and Swan Districts do battle for the right to face East Fremantle in the Grand Final next Sunday at the same venue.

With East Fremantle having already qualified for next Saturday's WAFLW Grand Final at Revo Fitness Stadium having won all 15 of their matches so far in 2022, the Tigers and Swans will lock horns to see who takes them on.

The preliminary final takes place at Revo Fitness Stadium on Sunday with bounce down set for 2pm.

Claremont will be attempting to win its way into their first WAFLW Grand Final and Swan Districts a third having lost to East Fremantle in 2019 and then Peel Thunder in 2021.

The two teams have played one another three times already this year starting back in Round 1 where Claremont were dominant 52-point winners at Revo Fitness Stadium.

It was also at Tigerland in Round 8 when Claremont had another powerful 42-point victory against Swan Districts.

The Tigers completed the trifecta of wins against the Swans in 2022 with a 31-point as well in Round 12 at Steel Blue Oval.

Claremont comes into the preliminary final on the back of a five-point defeat at the hands of East Fremantle in last week's second semi-final.

However, the Tigers earned the right to host the preliminary final by finishing in second spot on the ladder and of their four losses so far in 2022, three have come at the hands of East Fremantle with Subiaco the other to beat them.

After being the standout team of the WAFLW in 2021 but falling short in the Grand Final against Peel Thunder, Swan Districts has had to do it the hard way in 2022 needing some help from the Thunder in the last round to ensure they reached the finals again.

Swans then repaid Peel by beating them in last Sunday's first semi-final at Mandurah's Lane Group Stadium and that now sets them up for a chance to beat Claremont for the first time in four attempts in 2022.

A win for Claremont will provide the Tigers a chance to get revenge on East Fremantle for three losses so far in 2022 and to win a first WAFLW premiership with Swans looking for a third chance at WAFLW glory after the two previous Grand Final losses.
