Women’s footy is set to expand amongst schoolgirls with a new partnership between East Perth Football club and Perth College.
Leading the partnership for East Perth Football club is Chief Executive Officer, Dean Turner, who believes the partnership to be an exciting opportunity.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the Club to be involved in growing our great game through our metro District,” Turner said.
“Being able to give the girls from Perth College the opportunity to participate in football programs and encourage them to join their local community clubs will continue to strengthen our thriving female football pathway.”
Perth College Head of Sport Development and Performance and former West Coast and East Perth great is delighted with the partnership and is excited to see the benefit for future communities.
“The genuine interest and investment from the East Perth Football Club to grow AFL participation within our school has been fantastic to see,” Selwood said.
“The opportunities for our students to be connected to a thriving sport and continue this engagement within East Perth District is the key to developing sustainable pathway programs’ the former West Coast Eagles Head of AFLW.”
The West Australian Football Commission is excited by the partnership and hopes it will provide girls with more opportunities to play the sport they love.
