The West Australian Football Commission welcomes two new Life Members to an illustrious club.
After serving football for more than half a century, Peter Grosser has been recognised for his outstanding commitment to the game. Peter served as a player, coach, and administrator at the North Fremantle Amateur Football Club.
One of Peter’s greatest achievements was his role in establishing the Integrated Football Competition for players with intellectual disabilities.
The premiership trophy has been named the Peter Grosser Cup in his honour. Peter was unable to attend as he is now living in Helsinki Finland. Peter was able to join in on the lunch via live stream.
The second life membership has been awarded to Murray McHenry.
Murray spent more than twenty years in football administration. His roles at the West Coast Eagles between 1987 and 1999 included serving as a director , before being appointed Chairman of the club for three seasons.
Not only did Murray help save the club from insolvency, he played a crucial strategic role in the Eagles Premierships in 1992 and 1994. In 2010, Murray joined the West Australian Football Commission Board, a role he held for nine years. Between 2015 and 2019 Murray was Chairman of the Commission.
