Following the WA State Government announcement with respect to the lockdown, the following protocols must be adhered to by all community football leagues and clubs within the Perth & Peel regions.
WAFL, WAFLW & Talent Programs
The West Australian Football League (WAFL), WAFLW, and WA Talent programs have been postponed until 12.01am Saturday July 3 as per WA State Government requirements.
The decision means no clubs can participate in training sessions or scratch matches across the four-day lockdown period. This includes no use of club gyms or changerooms.
Information regarding Round 13 of the WAFL and the WAFLW Grand Final scheduled for this weekend will be released in due course after consultation with participating clubs, however the WAFC will be guided by any further directions and health advice from the WA State Government.
All activities in relation to the WA State Talent programs have been cancelled over the four-day lockdown period with information regarding the U17s National Championships to be released over the coming days.
Junior Football
All Metro Junior Competitions have been postponed until 12.01am Saturday July 3 as per WA State Government requirements.
Junior clubs in the Perth and Peel areas will be unable to train or play scratch matches over the four-day lockdown period.
Auskick centres in Perth and Peel will have all sessions postponed that were scheduled during the four-day lockdown period.
Decisions on fixtures and Auskick sessions for the upcoming weekend will be made in due course, however the WAFC will be guided by any further directions and health advice from the WA State Government.
Senior Community & Regional Football
All Metro Senior Competitions have been postponed until 12.01am Saturday July 3 as per WA State Government requirements.
The Perth Football League, Metro Football League, Peel Football & Netball League, Hills Football Association and AFL Masters cannot train or play matches across the four-day lockdown period.
Decisions on fixtures for the upcoming weekend will be made in due course, however the WAFC will be guided by any further directions and health advice from the WA State Government.
Information regarding the upcoming Nutrien Ag Women’s, Men’s and CBH Colts Country Championships will be released in due course.
All leagues outside of the Perth & Peel regions are permitted to proceed as normal, however individual leagues may make decisions based on the availability of players. Clubs are encouraged to speak to their leagues directly.
