The Optus WAFL returns this weekend after a one-week hiatus due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the Perth and Peel Regions. 

Crowds will return to games with no limit set on spectators at WAFL venues, bringing a level of excitement to Round 5.

Swan Districts are looking to continue their strong start to the season and face a struggling East Perth side at Leederville Oval.

Prized recruit Lewis Jetta returns to the Swans line up, while Royals’ skipper Jackson Ramsay is still missing for the home side. 

Jesse Palmer has been dangerous in front of call and will cause issues, with Matt Riggio finding fantastic form at the ripe age of 33.

East Fremantle and Perth clash on Saturday with both teams desperate for the four points. 

The Sharks could go in favourites against the 2020 finalists, seeing the inclusion of Hugh Dixon add potency to the forward line. 

Solid defender Andrew Fisher will make his first appearance for the season, while Haydn Busher will play his first game for Perth, moving across from Claremont a couple of weeks ago. 

The game of the round sees West Perth travel to Claremont, with two top-five hopefuls battling it out at Revo Fitness Stadium

The Tigers remain unbeaten and will be bolstered by the return of ruckman Oliver Eastland. 

West Perth will be keen to take a big scalp and will need plenty from a potent forward line of Tyler Keitel and Keegan Knott. 

Reigning Premiers South Fremantle and Subiaco reignite hostilities at Fremantle Community Bank Oval . 

Jordan Lockyer v Mason Shaw is a matchup to keep your eye on, with the midfield battle between several stars of the competition key to the outcome. 

The WAFL’s version of the Western Derby rounds out the weekend’s games with a Sunday clash down at David Grays Arena. 

Expect both teams to come out firing, with a number of AFL-listed players set to be named.
