Facilities are a critical to delivering a highly positive experience for all players and through partnering with clubs and all levels of government, the WAFC aims to continually drive investment in our venues across the state. Facilities in focus will profile some of the great projects that are happening throughout our state, with a particular focus on sharing best practice for future developments.
The Lakelands Park Sports Facility was formally opened in late 2020 by City of Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams, Hon. David Templeman MLA, Member for Mandurah and Andrew Hastie MP, Federal Member for Canning.
The $7.9M project delivers three full size playing fields with match standard lighting in a significant growth corridor for football. These fields are critical in supporting the North Mandurah Football Club reach their growth potential as they grow their junior and senior pathways.
The $2.5 million state of the art facility including four unisex change rooms, club rooms for the North Mandurah FC, kitchen and canteen facilities and a host of support infrastructure.
The North Mandurah Football Club have in excess of 400 participants across junior and senior clubs including over 50 female participants.
The West Australian Football Commission thanks the key project funding partners WA Government ($4.5M), City of Mandurah ($2.8M), Federal Government ($300,000) and Australian Football League ($150,000).
