Western Australia have recorded a second victory at the AFL Under 18 National Championships, overcoming the Allies by 25-points at Alberton Oval.
Despite a slow start to the contest, WA found their groove midway through the second quarter to kick nine goals to two after quarter time.
WA’s small forwards looked dangerous throughout the contest with Elijah Taylor and Tyron Thorne both kicking three goals.
Deven Robertson again led from the front collecting 30 disposals to lead all comers on the ground. Jeremy Sharp impressed with his use of the ball to have 22 touches and a goal, while Riley Garcia gathered 24 himself.
Logan McDonald presented strongly for the WA side, while Trent Rivers and Ben Johnson were steady off the half-back line.
The efforts of the WA backline were key to victory, with the Allies having 11 scoring shots to four at half time. Jake Pasini, Jaxon Prior and Denver Grainger-Barras all held firm to quell the Allies in attack.
The third term proved the highlight throughout the match, seeing Taylor kick a fantastic goal from the boundary after stepping past the man on the mark.
Thorne was equally as impressive, snapping truly from 45 on his left to kick WA clear of the Allies.
Callum Jamieson and Thorne were able to add majors early in the last to put the contest to bed in Adelaide.
WA have the bye next week before travelling to Melbourne to take on Vic Country in the final round of the NAB AFL Under 18s National Championships.
