THE TABtouch WAFL Finals Series for 2018 goes up a gear this Sunday with Subiaco and South Fremantle battling over a Grand Final berth as West Perth and Claremont fight just to stay alive.
The 2018 WAFL Finals Series got underway last weekend with South Fremantle beating West Perth by 98 points to advance to the second semi-final while Claremont stayed alive with a hard-fought elimination final victory against East Perth.
All that took place while Subiaco had the weekend off after becoming the first team to go through the home and away season undefeated since 1946.
That sets the stage for the semi-final action this Sunday across two venues where we will have one team advance to the Grand Final, another eliminated and the other two to go on and play in the following Sunday's preliminary final.
The action gets underway with the first semi-final at Joondalup Arena with West Perth and Claremont fighting for survival from 2.15pm.
The second semi-final then takes place at Leederville Oval between Subiaco and South Fremantle with the winner to advance to the Grand Final at Optus Stadium. The loser will play host to a preliminary final against either West Perth or Claremont.
Meanwhile in the reserves, the second semi-final will take place between Subiaco and East Perth at Leederville Oval from 12.20pm with the winner straight through to the Grand Final.
The loser will then play in the preliminary final against the winner of the first semi-final on Sunday between Claremont and Swan Districts at Joondalup Arena from 11.25am.
And in the colts, Subiaco hosts Swan Districts at Leederville Oval from 9.45am in the second semi-final with the winner to advance to the Grand Final at Optus Stadium.
The first semi-final will take place at Joondalup Arena between Peel Thunder and East Fremantle with the winner to stay alive and play in the preliminary final.
