WAFL MRP Update - Round 13Monday, July 2, 2018 - 4:46 PM

The following reports were assessed by the WAFL Match Review Panel following Round 13 League matches.

 

Nick Kommer, East Fremantle, was cited for rough conduct on Kane Mitchell, Claremont, during the third quarter of the League match between East Fremantle and Claremont on Saturday 30th June at Country Builders Stadium, Geraldton.
In summary, the above mentioned can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
Based on the available video evidence and a victim impact report from the Claremont Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact. Under the table of penalties the offence was classified as a one (1) match sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to reduce the penalty to a reprimand.

Jamie McNamara, East Fremantle, was reported for rough conduct on Bailey Rogers, Claremont, during the fourth quarter of the League match between East Fremantle and Claremont on Saturday 30th June at Country Builders Stadium, Geraldton.
In summary, the above mentioned can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
Based on the available video evidence and a victim impact report from the Claremont Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact. Under the table of penalties the offence was classified as a one (1) match sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to reduce the penalty to a reprimand.

Karl Green, East Fremantle, was reported for rough conduct on Lachlan Martinis, Claremont, during the fourth quarter of the League match between East Fremantle and Claremont on Saturday 30th June at Country Builders Stadium, Geraldton.
In summary, the match review panel has dismissed the charge.
Based on the available video evidence and a victim impact report from the Claremont Football Club, the match review panel concluded that the action was not a reportable offence and the incident was dismissed. No further action was taken.  

Melee

East Fremantle v Claremont
The following players have been charged with engaging in a melee during the third quarter of the League match between East Fremantle and Claremont on Saturday 30th June at Country Builders Stadium, Geraldton.
Jared Jansen, Nick Kommer, Cameron Loersch and Jamie McNamara from East Fremantle FC and Jack Beeck, Jye Bolton, Morgan Davies and Matthew Palfrey from Claremont FC have all been cited by the match review panel and charged with engaging in a melee.
In summary, the above mentioned players can accept a $50 financial sanction with an early guilty plea.
A first offence for engaging in a melee is a $100 financial sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $50 financial sanction. 

Tom Curren from Claremont FC has been cited by the match review panel and charged with engaging in a melee.
In summary, the above mentioned player can accept a $100 financial sanction with an early guilty plea. 
A second and subsequent low level offence in the previous 12 months is a $200 financial sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $100 financial sanction.
