THERE are just the three matches in Round 12 of the 2018 WAFL season but each of them has plenty on the line with Swan Districts trying to upset Subiaco, Perth attempting to end a long losing run to West Perth and East Perth and Claremont out to return to the winner's list.
With the second placed South Fremantle, seventh placed Peel Thunder and bottom placed East Fremantle having the bye in Round 12, it shapes as a fascinating day of action on Saturday with three matches taking place.
The earlier starting game on Saturday afternoon takes place at Leederville Oval and will be televised live on Channel 7 from 1.30pm with East Perth playing Claremont.
The Royals still sit in fifth position but have lost all four matches since the State game break which they entered having won four straight. The Tigers, meanwhile, have just the three wins for the season and need the four points desperately to stay in the finals hunt still.
The other two matches both take place in the traditional 2.15pm time slot with West Perth hosting Perth at Joondalup Arena.
The Falcons come into the game having beaten Claremont in a thriller last week by a point to consolidate third position on the ladder and they have won 14 straight against the Demons.
But this could be the best run of form Perth has come into a game with West Perth in over that stretch having beaten South Fremantle and East Fremantle the past fortnight to improve to a 4-6 record and be knocking on the door of the top five.
Swan Districts then returns from the Round 11 bye to host the unbeaten league-leading Subiaco at Steel Blue Oval.
The Lions did thump Swans by 96 points back in Round 3 at Steel Blue Oval, but the black-and-whites will be confident of a much better showing this time around on home turf.
