SUBIACO remains undefeated and clear on top of the WAFL Colts ladder following four rounds after beating Claremont in Round 4 while Perth and Swan Districts recorded their third wins of the campaign, and South Fremantle their first.

The Round 5 Colts action got underway at Leederville Oval with Subiaco continuing its impressive undefeated start with a nail-biting victory against Claremont, 13.7 (85) to 12.9 (81).

Then there were the two matches on Saturday afternoon with Swan Districts beating West Perth 14.10 (94) to 3.5 (23) at Steel Blue Oval and Perth overcoming East Perth 10.15 (75) to 8.2 (50) at Lathlain Park.

The round concluded with the ANZAC Derby at East Fremantle Oval with South Fremantle getting its first win on the board of 2018, defeating East Fremantle 11.8 (74) to 4.12 (36).

Following the opening four rounds of the season, Subiaco sits clear on top of the Colts ladder at 4-0 ahead of Perth (3-1) and Swan Districts (3-1).

West Perth (2-2) and South Fremantle (1-2) round out the top five ahead of Claremont (1-2), Peel Thunder (1-2), East Fremantle (1-3) and East Perth (0-3).

It is the WAFL Colts Super Round now this Saturday with three matches taking place at Fremantle Community Bank Oval starting with Claremont facing South Fremantle before Swan Districts also plays East Fremantle and Perth faces West Perth. 

East Perth and Peel Thunder will play on Sunday at Leederville Oval from 2.30pm.

SUBIACO v CLAREMONT

Subiaco and Claremont's colts contest opened the round on Thursday afternoon at Leederville Oval and it was a tight affair the whole way before the Lions ended up winning by four points.

Subiaco led narrowly at quarter-time by four points and then by three points at half-time and 12 at three quarter-time. 

Claremont kicked two goals to one in the last term but the Lions held on for the 13.7 (85) to 12.9 (81) victory to remain unbeaten in 2018.

Nathan French, Jack Mayo, Jordan Faraone and Luke Foley all kicked two goals each for Subiaco with Foley also finishing with 36 possessions, 13 tackles, six marks and four entries inside the forward 50.

Jacob Peletier also collected 25 disposals for the Lions, Will Hickmott 22, Tristan Hobley 21, Jake McKinnon 18 and Liam Hickmott 18 to go with 12 tackles.

Jack Buller kicked three goals for Claremont, Tyron Smallwood two, Anthony Davis two and Will Stockwell two.

Rylie Morgan amassed 36 possessions for the Tigers, Smallwood 27, Jordan Clark 20 and Oliver Henderson 17.

 

SWAN DISTRICTS v WEST PERTH

Swan Districts' colts bounced back well from their first loss of the season to beat West Perth by 71 points at Steel Blue Oval on Saturday.

Swans had lost their top-of-the-table clash to Subiaco at Leederville Oval the previous Saturday but bounced back strongly on home turf as part of Anzac Round to beat West Perth 14.10 (94) to 3.5 (23).

Swan Districts kicked the only four goals of the first quarter and then again kicked four goals to nil in the third term, and four goals to one in the last to come away big winners.

Atem Deng kicked three goals for Swan Districts, Joseph Hinder two, Ryan Bennell two, Jarred Cameron two and Sebastian Bright two.

Mitchell Bain racked up 29 possessions for Swans, Graydon Wilson 28, Malaki Rodoreda 22, Kade Walldrot 19, Jackson Beck 18 and Joel Curtis 17. Blake Rowlinson had 10 touches and 19 hit outs in the ruck.

West Perth's goals came courtesy of Ben Johnson, Jack Burke and Koopah Todd.

Nathan Murray gathered 28 possessions for West Perth, Alec Johnson 23, Filimone Muavou 21, Bailey Chalmers 20 and Todd 18 to go with 11 marks.

 

PERTH v EAST PERTH

Perth continued its strong start to the 2018 colts season winning its third game from four attempts beating East Perth by 25 points at Lathlain Park on Saturday.

The Demons held narrow advantages through the afternoon leading by eight points at quarter-time, five at half-time and 17 at three quarter-time before winning 10.15 (75) to 8.2 (50).

But really it was a more complete performance than that suggests from Perth with only its inaccuracy and East Perth's accuracy keeping it closer with the Demons keeping the Royals winless in 2018.

Zac Casey, Elijah Taylor, Harry Zimmermann and Mitch Mcllheney all kicked two goals apiece for Perth.

Regan Clarke racked up 25 possessions for the Demons, Sydney Stack 24, Ethan Hansen 18, Austin Davis 18 and Mcllheney 17 to go with 12 hit outs, seven inside 50s, six marks and six tackles.

Ashley Willcocks kicked two goals for East Perth from four kicks.

Damon Greaves finished with 23 possessions for East Perth, Cooper Sparks 19 and Jordan Hayden 17. Egan Bradbury had 41 hit outs in the ruck for the Royals.

 

EAST FREMANTLE v SOUTH FREMANTLE

The ANZAC Derby at East Fremantle Oval on Sunday got underway with the colts contest and it was South Fremantle on top from the start to end up winning the game 11.8 (74) to 4.12 (36).

The Bulldogs kicked the only four goals of the opening quarter to lead by 23 points at quarter-time and then still by 15 points at half-time, 10 points at three quarter-time and then with the only four goals of the last term, went on to win by 38 points.

Tom Weston kicked four goals for South Fremantle from nine kicks with Eric Botha also booting two majors from six kicks and five marks.

Luke Moore gathered 23 possessions for South Fremantle as well to go with nine marks, six tackles and five inside-50 entries.

Matthew Ward finished with 22 possessions too for the Bulldogs, James Russell 21, Kyle Hamersley 21 and Jack Musika 18. Angus McKay had 10 disposals, six tackles and 32 hit outs in the ruck.

East Fremantle's four goal scorers were Milan Murdock, Zac Wilkinson, Trey Ruscoe and Dillon O'Reilly.

Corey Robinson gathered 24 possessions for the Sharks, Jeremy Sharp 22, Murdock 21 (14 tackles), Tom Joyce 21, Ruscoe 17 and Trent Rivers 16.
