WEST Australian players showcased their talent at the NAB AFL Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium this week, highlighted by a new record for the running vertical jump from Subiaco’s Kyron Hayden.

Hayden's huge leap of 103cm saw him overtake the record of 102cm set by Nic Naitanui at the 2008 combine and Jared Brennan in 2002.

The impressive result came as something of a surprise from the Lions midfielder, who stands at 185cm.

Subiaco team mate Ben Miller also impressed, sharing top honours in the agility test by running 8.10 seconds, while also scoring a perfect 30 out of 30 in the goal-kicking test and recording a 2.91 as one of the best performers in the 20m sprint.

DEPPRO WA State 18s co-captains Oscar Allen (West Perth) and Aaron Naughton (Peel Thunder) both finished in the top 10 of the Smartspeed agility test. Allen also came seventh in the running vertical jump.

Claremont’s Jake Patmore was among the best in the goal kicking test with a score of 25 out of 30.

South Fremantle's Tim Kelly didn't complete physical testing due to knee soreness following a knock in the WAFL Preliminary Final.
