The Lions take on reigning premiers Peel Thunder next Sunday, September 24, in what will be the last ever WAFL Grand Final at their long-term home ground, Subiaco Oval.
The Bulldogs’ pace and accuracy tested the Lions in the opening term and made for a 4.3 (27) to 2.5 (17) lead at the first break.
But the Bulldogs couldn’t sustain their intensity as the Lions’ work rate steered them back into the game with a 55-33 lead over the visitors at the main break.
The Bulldogs fought back in the final term, booting three early goals to get within 16 points of the Lions, but couldn’t maintain the pressure as the Lions continued to lift their game to run out 32-point winners.
The Lions gear up for a Grand Final rematch against Thunder at Subiaco Oval and their fourth consecutive decider. Tickets available through Ticketmaster.
Subiaco also has its Reserves side playing off for this year's premiership against South Fremantle following a dominant 10.11 (71) to 6.14 (50) Preliminary Final victory over Claremont.
Claremont has claimed a place in the Colts Grand Final against East Fremantle with a two-goal win in their Preliminary Final this morning against East Perth. It was a closely fought contest with the Tigers beating the Royals 8.9 (57) - 6.9 (45).
