It’s been a long time coming for the Tigers and after three and a half years playing at Claremont Showgrounds, the Claremont Football Club returns to its traditional home ground of 127 years this Saturday in the clash against East Fremantle.
The $15.5 million state-of-the-art facility will not only house the Claremont Football Club but will be a community sporting and social complex.
The Clubrooms will comprise a 600-seat grandstand with standing and viewing areas for a further 600 people, spacious function facilities, which will be available for non-football events such as weddings and corporate functions, and home and away team change rooms. The complex also houses a number of tenancies including Revo Fitness, a boutique café “Hello Tiger” and LifeCare Claremont Physiotherapy.
The Tigers host East Fremantle Sharks on Saturday, June 10; the first WAFL game played at the oval since September 2013. The Club is hosting its annual Family Fun Day on this day, and the highly-anticipated Opening Ceremony will be held on the oval in the minutes leading up to the bounce down of the League match.
