ROUND 6 of the WAFL got underway with three matches on Saturday to commemorate ANZAC Day and West Perth, Subiaco and East Perth came away with impressive victories before South Fremantle won the derby on Tuesday.
The round started on Saturday with three matches all commemorating ANZAC Day.
West Perth handed Swan Districts its first defeat of the 2017 season in a nail-biter holding on to win 13.7 (85) to 12.8 (80).
Former Swans forward Rudy Riddoch kicked the winning goal while Aaron Black racked up 47 possessions for the Falcons.
East Perth scored its first win of the season at the expense of Perth with the Royals winning 17.13 (115) to 14.11 (95) at Leederville Oval despite 53 disposals from Demons captain Clint Jones.
Subiaco then won a fifth straight match handing Claremont consecutive defeats with a 15.10 (100) to 6.9 (45) victory at East Fremantle Oval.
The Lions dominated the Tigers after half-time with 11 goals to two for the 55-point victory.
The action concluded on ANZAC Day itself with the derby at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
East Fremantle looked a chance at a first win of 2017 leading by 19 points during the third quarter. But South Fremantle responded with the next eight goals to set up the eventual 13.22 (100) to 9.5 (59) victory.
