There are female football competitions for all ages and abilties in Western Australia, starting at Auskick for Pre-Primary participants through to juniors based on primary school year groups, Youth Girls for highschool aged players and senior women's competitions.

There is also a WA Female Talent Academy that  focuses on the development of female players and coaches to an elite level with an annual selection process that is coordinated through the Mundella WA Women's Football League clubs and Junior Football Clubs.

NAB AFL Auskick: Pre-Primary - Year 3

  • NAB AFL Auskick introduces primary school aged boys and girls and their familes to football.
  • In a weekly coaching program, childern learn the skills of the game through modified activities and rules in a fun and safe environment.

Junior Girls: Year 4 - Year 6 

  • Girls have the choice to play with the boys in structured mixed gender football competitions or girls only competitions.
  • Junior football rules are modified to meet the skill level and safety needs.

Community Youth Girls: Year 7- Year 9

  • Girls can play in mixed gender teams up to the age of 14.
  • These teams are aligned to community junior football clubs.

Mundella WAWFL Rogers Cup Year 10 - Year 12

  • These teams are aligned to the 9 WA Women's Football League Clubs.
  • Players must play for the club within their District.
  • Games are played Sunday Mornings before WAWFL Seniors. 

Senior Competitions: Year 12+ 

  • In WA there is a State League Women's Competition known as the Mundella WA Women's Football League 
  • WAWFL Players must be 17 as of the 1st Jan 2017. 
  • There are 9 WAWFL Clubs available across Metro WA with two Divisions; League and Reserves.
  • Those players aspiring to play football at the elite level through the talent pathway are encouraged to play football on a regualar basis.
