Swan Districts Football Club Chief Executive Officer Tom Bottrell has called time on his successful five-year career for the Swans to take up the recently vacated CEO position with South Fremantle Football Club.

It comes after South Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Stuart Kemp announced his resignation last week.

Swan Districts Football Club President Peter Hodyl said the club is completely understanding of his move to the Bulldogs.

“While it is disappointing for the Swans to lose such a quality person, we fully understand Tom’s desire to return to his roots,” he said.

“A club of which he is a 200 game Life Member and former Board Member.”

“Tom has been an influential and steady leader of our club for the past five years during a period of great change. His commitment and loyalty to the Swans during some difficult times is a testament to his character and it is easy to understand why the Bulldogs sought to recruit him for their role.”

“We wish Tom, Linda and the family all the very best in the next chapter of their lives and thank them for their commitment to the Swan Districts Football Club.”

 Hodyl also complemented South Fremantle on the way President Haydn Raitt had given advance notice of intention to approach Bottrell.

The Swans Board will take the opportunity to conduct an in-depth review of the Club’s operational processes and commence the task of finding a suitable replacement with the skills required to deliver the Club’s long-term objectives.
