The West Australian Football Commission acknowledges the outstanding contribution, leadership and commitment of Fremantle Football Club President Steve Harris to the club and the West Australian football community.
WAFC Chairman Murray McHenry said Mr Harris had done an outstanding job since being appointed as Fremantle Football Club President in 2009.
“Steve has made a significant impact during his time as President of Fremantle Football Club, overseeing the club’s growth and development as a highly professional organisation,” Mr McHenry said.
“He has also played a key role in driving the club’s financial sustainability and overseen a period which included a successful rebranding for the club and its first ever AFL Grand Final appearance.
“The on and off-field success of both AFL clubs in Western Australia is critical to supporting all levels of community football, so his influence has not only been felt at Fremantle but throughout the entire WA football system.
“On behalf of the West Australian Football Commission and the WA football community I thank and congratulate him on his contribution to making football better in Western Australia.
“I would also like to congratulated Fremantle Football Club vice president Dale Alcock on being announced to become the club’s fifth president. We are looking forward to working with him,” Mr McHenry said.
