The Claremont Football Community will come together this Sunday to raise vital funds for the Proudies Foundation, which was set up to support former Tigers player Warrick Proudlove.

In July 2011 19-year-old Warrick was seriously injured in a freak car accident when the car he was travelling in as a passenger collided with a horse.

Warrick sustained serious head injuries and in turn suffered significant brain damage and requires 24-hour care, rehabilitation and special equipment, all of which comes at a cost.

Warrick was a very talent footballer in his home town of Albany and is well respected, trusted and admired amongst his peers and the local community.

After moving to Perth to join the Claremont Football Club, Warrick was quick to make a mark on the team with his extraordinary attributes that made him a true role model amongst his teammates.

Nearly five years after his accident Warrick remains an inspiration to his friends and family who go to extraordinary lengths to support him and raise much-needed funds for his on-going care and rehabilitation.

Unfortunately Warrick was unable to make a claim for compensation and as a direct result of the accident the State Government is implementing no-fault insurance through motor vehicle fees to ensure no one else suffers the same fate.

After four years the Proudies Foundation has raised more than $176,000, all of which assists in covering the costs of rehabilitation, care and equipment required to ensure Warrick receives the best care heading into the future.

All funds raised by the Foundation go directly to Warrick’s care.

Buy a raffle ticket or make a donation at the Proudies Day event at the Claremont Showgrounds on Sunday, May 29.
