Guided by the experienced Cam Shepherd, coaching the side for his third consecutive year, the 34-man squad, featuring seven players from East Perth and six from the reigning premiers East Fremantle, is a testament to the region's rich talent pool and the team's determination to bring home the win.

Women's State Game
In the inaugural Women's State Game at Optus Stadium, the SANFLW team edged out the WAFL Women's team 49 to 33 after a competitive match. South Australia dominated early, leading by 25 points at one stage, but Western Australia rallied back, levelling the scores during the third quarter. Key performances included Zippy Fish for WA with 28 possessions and a goal and Jessica Bates for SA with 34 possessions. Despite the comeback, SA sealed the win with the only goal in the final term by Katelyn Rosenzweig.
This historic match, expected to become an annual event similar to the men's competitions, showcased intense rivalry and promising talent. Both teams had moments of brilliance, with WA overcoming an early deficit to set up a thrilling contest, only for SA to regain control and clinch victory in the final stages. The game highlighted individual stars like Fish and Bates and set the stage for future encounters between these two proud football states.
