AFL launches new HeadCheck appThursday, July 19, 2018 - 11:21 AM

A new online app has been released to help support football communities manage concussion for children aged 5-18.

Developed by world leading concussion experts at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) and the AFL, the new HeadCheck app helps Trainers & Coaches to recognise the symptoms of a suspected concussion and its severity.

In addition, the app also provides support for parents during stressful situations, advises parents about when the most appropriate time to go to hospital or the GP, guides parents on when its safe to send children back to school, training and games, and also lists the patient’s symptoms to observe to tell paramedic/doctor.

WA football clubs are encouraged to download the FREE HeadCheck app and share it with their trainers, first aiders, parents and members so everyone can have access to the best practice in child concussion education and advice.

Download the FREE HeadCheck concussion app via the Apple Store for iPhones or via the Google Play Store for Andriod devices.
