Our local clubs are at the heart of what makes Footy great, and our clubs are only made great by people who make big sacrifices to keep our game thriving. These people are our local footy heroes and Optus wants to thank them for their contribution.

Each hero of the week will be announced during the WAFL Optus Half Time show. The winner will receive two complimentary tickets to a premium footy experience at Optus Stadium. Terms and Conditions apply - see below.

 

 

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This document contains the Terms and Conditions under which the West Australian Football Commission (ABN 51 167 923 136) (Promoter) will offer rewards under its Subiaco Oval Memories Competition (Competition).

The Competition commences at 1:00pm (WST) on Saturday 31 March 2018 and concludes at 11:59pm (WST) on Sunday 26 August 2018 (Competition Period).

The Competition is open to any person or persons who complete the following steps:

a) Enter their Optus Club Hero of the Week explaining why the nominee should win in 25-words or less. This can only be done via the following website:  http://www.optusclubhero.com.au/

The nominator must outline in 25-words or less that the nominee has demonstrated the following:

  • Have undertaken paid or volunteer service at their local football club
  • Gone above and beyond at their local football club to make it a better place

The nominee can only be entered once per draw, to a maximum of 18-times. 

There will be 18-different winners, announced in the WAFL broadcast during the regular home and away season.

The games in which the Optus Club Hero of the week will be announced are identified as:

  • Winner one (1): Subiaco v Claremont - Thursday 19 April 2018
  • Winner two (2): East Fremantle v South Fremantle – Sunday 22 April 2018
  • Winner three (3): East Perth v Peel Thunder – Sunday 29 April 2018
  • Winner four (4): Peel Thunder v Subiaco – Saturday 19 May 2018
  • Winner five (5): East Perth v Swan Districts – Saturday 26 May 2018
  • Winner six (6): Swan Districts v Perth – Saturday 2 June 2018
  • Winner seven (7): West Perth v East Perth – Monday 4 June 2018
  • Winner eight (8): Claremont v Swan Districts – Saturday 9 June 2018
  • Winner nine (9): Perth v East Fremantle – Saturday 16 June 2018
  • Winner ten (10): South Fremantle v Claremont – Saturday 7 July 2018
  • Winners 11-18 will be announced during the broadcast in rounds 12-13 and 15-21. These are floating fixtures and times and dates and to be confirmed.

Prize

In this competition, commencing at 1:00 pm (WST) on Saturday 31 March 2018 and concluding at 11:59pm (WST) on Sunday 26 August 2018, the winners will be announced before the 5:00pm on Wednesday 29 August 2018.

  1. The winners are defined as anyone who has been nominated by someone within their local club. The nominator has to complete the online submission form located at http://www.optusclubhero.com.au/
  2. The winners are selected at the discretion of the promoter.
  3. Each winner will receive two complimentary tickets to a premium football experience at Optus Stadium.
    1. Premium football experience is defined as; two tickets in the Bankwest Club at Optus Stadium valued at approximately $260.00 per ticket.
      Valued at a total amount of $5,980.00 per person for the duration of the competition period.
    2. Winner will be allocated the tickets at the discretion of the Promoter
    3. Food and beverage is not included in the prize or ticket.
    4. Perth metropolitan public transport is included to and from Optus Stadium
    5. Domestic and International travel is not included in the prize. Winners will be required to make their own way to the Perth metropolitan area.
  4. The prize is not transferable and must be utilised by the winner outlined in the ‘nominee’ section when the nominator is submitting the applicant.

General Terms

Participants are not entitled to submit more than one (1) entry per broadcast entry period throughout the competition.

The winning Participants will be notified through email or phone by a West Australian Football Commission official employee.

Winning Participants of the prizes must supply the Promoter with a valid postal address and phone number once told of their prize.

If a winning Participant of the prize does not respond to the Promoters notification within 48 hrs of the Promoter notifying them that they were a winner the winning Participant will no longer be entitled to the prize and the prize will be re-awarded to the next participant selected at random and to the promoter’s discretion.

The prize is not transferable for cash or interchangeable for another prize.

The prize is not transferable and must be utilised by the winner outlined in the ‘nominee’ section when the nominator is submitting the applicant.

If any of the prize is unavailable, the Promoter has the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or similar value.

The warranty on the goods and services obtained as a result of the Competition remains the sole responsibility of the supplier/service provider of the Prize.

The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the Competition at any time without notice.

By participating in this promotion, the promoter has the right to obtain the nominator and nominee email address to be added to the West Australian Football Commission’s e-marketing database for WA Footy News.

The email address will not be sold to a third party.

By participating in this competition, Participants acknowledge that they may be required to sign the Terms and Conditions of the prize issuer in order to redeem the prize. Participants agree to comply with those Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to any expiry date, and release and indemnify the Promoter for any liability in relation to the prize or the issuer.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility should injury or accident occur as a result of the Competition. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Participant releases the Promoter and its Related Bodies Corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) from any loss or damage incurred by the Participant arising from the Competition and the use of the prize, including but not limited to:

a) personal injury and property damage;

b) any tax liability incurred by the Participant;

c) if the prize is a gift voucher, the failure by the issuer to honour the gift voucher; or the Terms and Conditions under which a prize is issued.

By entering the Competition, the entrants hereby give the Promoter consent to use their name, likeness or image (including photograph or recording) (should they be the Winner or Replacement Winner) for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition. A photo may be taken of the Winners (or Replacement Winners).

This prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
