WAFL Round 14 teams and previewsFriday, June 23, 2017 - 11:51 AM

THE runaway league-leading Subiaco has the bye in Round 14 leaving the other eight WAFL clubs to make a statement as the battle for spots inside the top five heats up, as does the fight to avoid the wooden spoon.

Three of the four Round 14 WAFL match ups take place on Saturday afternoon and five of the six clubs involved are fighting over the bottom three positions inside the top five.

Claremont is at its redeveloped Claremont Oval home for a third successive week looking to win a third straight match up against the third placed West Perth. The Falcons last trip to Tigerland was the winning 2013 second semi-final.

Swan Districts and East Perth do battle at Steel Blue Oval with a position in the top five on the line. The winner will end the round inside the five and the loser will be looking on from the outside.

The final game on Saturday afternoon sees East Fremantle try to win consecutive games and potentially climb from bottom spot up against Peel Thunder at East Fremantle Oval. The Thunder need to win to ensure their top five spot.

The round concludes on Sunday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the second placed South Fremantle playing the second last placed Perth. The game will be live from 2pm on Channel 7.
