Women encouraged to become football leadersMonday, May 23, 2016 - 11:16 AM

The West Australian Football Commission hosted a networking event last week to discuss strategies to encourage more females to pursue Board positions in the football industry.

Female Board members of WA Football stakeholders and affiliates were invited to the lunch at Domain Stadium on Tuesday May, 17, which was hosted by WAFC Commissioner, Hon Cheryl Edwardes.

With the tremendous growth in female football participation on the field and the imminent arrival of a national women's AFL competition, the group is keen to encourage more women to pursue opportunities in leadership roles to direct not only the future of women's football, but the industry as a whole.
