Jack started his football career in 1946 with the original but now defunct East Fremantle Amateur Football Club, playing over 150 games before retiring in the late 1950’s.
A member of the 1948 State Carnival Team, Jack was known as an excellent mark and accurate kick, sometimes playing as a small forward but mostly as a rover.
Off the field Jack devoted countless hours to both East Fremantle and the WA Amateur Football League, serving as Club Delegate to the league and Club President before being persuaded to join the Tribunal by WAAFL legend Gra Grosvenor in 1970. He served a number of years on the Tribunal under the chairmanship of WA football great Jerry Dolan.
Jack went on to serve for over 20 years on the independent Protests and Disputes Board and was awarded his Life Membership to the WAAFL in 1981.
The thoughts and condolences of the WA Amateur Football League are with Jack’s family and friends.
